Privacy Policy

This document is a plain-language starting point, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it for your jurisdiction before you rely on it.

This policy explains what HiddenFM collects, why, and what you can do about it. We try to collect only what we need to run the service.

1. What we collect

Account info: your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email, name and profile picture.
Artist/profile info you provide: bio, social links, and your PayPal email for payouts. Your bio and social links become public once a listener reveals you.
Content you upload: audio, artwork and the metadata you enter (title, genre, BPM, mood, description).
Activity: plays, full listens, saves, reveals, purchases and similar usage, which we use for your stats and to run the feed.
Payment info: processed by Stripe. We receive a record that a payment succeeded and its amount - we never see or store your full card details.
Technical data: a session cookie to keep you logged in, plus basic logs (e.g. IP address) for security and abuse prevention.

2. How we use it

To provide the service: accounts, the feed, uploads, reveals, your library and stats.
To process payments and pay out artist earnings.
To send essential emails (email verification, password resets, and account or payout notices).
To keep HiddenFM safe - preventing fraud, abuse, spam and copyright infringement.
To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we don't run third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers needed to operate HiddenFM:

Stripe - payment processing.
Google - if you choose to sign in with Google.
Cloudflare R2 - storage and delivery of audio and artwork.
PayPal - to send artist payouts (we share the payout amount and your PayPal email).
Our email provider - to deliver the essential emails above.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect HiddenFM and its users.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms (CSRF). We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Your choices and rights

You can view and update your profile information at any time in your account settings.
You can delete your account, which removes your profile and content (subject to records we must keep for completed transactions, payouts and legal compliance).
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data - contact us to exercise them.

6. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. After deletion we keep limited records (e.g. of completed purchases and payouts) where required for accounting, tax or legal reasons.

7. Children

HiddenFM isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
